Positioned on its rocky spur that is topped with an impregnable fortress, Penne, a medieval village that combines charm with authenticity, overlooks the Aveyron gorges.
Go on a journey through this village’s rich history, closely linked to that of its castle, a real chef d’oeuvre of military architecture. As you wander through its narrow, winding lanes lined with timber-framed houses, Penne reveals its rich architectural heritage: ancient grain measures, 17th century gates and lintels and the church that formed part of the village’s defensive system, accessed by three fortified gates that can still be seen today.
